lindos: a small village with a great history
Lindos, located on the southeastern coast of the island of Rhodes, has a rich history dating back thousands of years. The village's most iconic landmark is its ancient Acropolis, which sits high atop a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea. Legend has it that the Acropolis was founded by Danaos and it served as a religious and cultural center for the people of Lindos. Over the centuries, the Acropolis was conquered and rebuilt by various rulers, including the ancient Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and Knights of St. John.
